2023 年齊徠福公益平台第一個服務項目正式命名為 Jeff and Jan Teach English.

我們是以看的高, 看的遠的長頸鹿做為精神代表. 美國文化中常見Jeff (Geoffrey/Jeffrey)來命名長頸鹿. 同時我們也邀請了Jan 一起作伴.

從9月10日開始, 我們將開展台灣南投縣信義鄉信義國小每週一上午的遠距英語輔助教學課程. 為期 13 週.

目的不是教學, 而是藉由小班制的線上即時互動過程, 提升孩子們對英語學習的興趣. 更藉由線上和海外志工老師互動之中打開眼界, 看到不一樣的未來性.

很榮幸的這次重啟齊徠福公益平台的幕後有已經退休的加州州立大學語言教學教授雷偉霖先生以及也是從教育界退休的資深老師 Donise 雷夫人擔任顧問和導師, 協助指導志工老師的訓練和課程編排. 非常感謝！

更開心的是招募到了一群品學兼優, 文武雙全的美國亞裔高中生報名志工老師. 共同為遠在太平洋彼端的孩童的學習盡一份心力.

我們在8月13日星期日下午進行了線上的志工老師的培訓說明會. 由導師 Donise 細心講解如何善用短短的 40 分鐘, 以活潑有趣的方式帶入到學習情境中.

My Giraffe Organization’s first project in 2023 has been officially named "Jeff and Jan Teach English."

We take the giraffe, a tall and far-seeing animal, as our spiritual representative. In American culture, giraffes are often named Jeff (Geoffrey/Jeffrey). We also invited giraffe Jan to keep company.

Starting from September 10th, we will launch weekly remote English as Second Language (ESL) assistance classes at Xinyi Elementary School in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. The program will last for 13 weeks.

The goal is not teaching, but to enhance children's interest in learning English through small-group online interactions, and to broaden their horizons through interactions with online ESL volunteer teachers from overseas, showing them a different future.

We are honored to have Mr. Wei-Lin Lei, a retired language teaching professor from the California State University system, and Mrs. Donise Lei, a retired educator as consultant and mentor teacher behind the scenes of this our relaunch. Mr. and Mrs. Lei will assist in guiding the training and curriculum arrangement for online ESL volunteer teachers. We are very grateful for your contribution to the project.

We are also thrilled to have recruited a group of academically excellent and talented Asian-American high school students as online ESL volunteer teachers. Together, we dedicate our efforts to the education of children across the Pacific.

On August 13th, Sunday, we conducted an online training and briefing session for volunteer teachers. Mentor Teacher Donise carefully explained how to make the most of a short 40-minute session and bring it to life in a lively and interesting manner within the learning context.

In the future, after the courses begin, we will share the rewards and joys with our caring and supportive friends and family here.
